Free Classified Advertising

Free classified advertising is a great resource which only costs you the time required to post your ad. If you have plenty of time on your hands you may want to do your own research and see which sites actually work the best for you, after all it is free to post.

However, not everyone has that much time to spare and since time is money we thought we might have a look at which site actually produced the best results. The last thing you need is to waste time posting ad after ad where no one is looking. We have researched many of these free classified sites by placing ads with tracking images and recording the success of the ads.

All sites in our review where in fact free classified advertising boards. We did notice a few sites which claim to be classified advertising, but where nothing more than a forum that lets users post. It does seem to create an illusion of many users because the ads are never refreshed. Ads from several years ago still remain and are buried under tens of thousands of other messages making it virtually impossible to ever see them again. And because ads are buried your likely to receive almost zero traffic as a result.

Out of all the sites we reviewed our favorite was the Free advertising Exchange. The moment we landed on Free advertising Exchange we knew we had a winner. The free classifieds are laid out very professionally and very simple to navigate. The user friendly classified board is broken down by category and subcategories making browsing a cinch. Users may post free classified ads for up to 60 days ensuring that all ads are fresh. Users can also include pictures or include a slide show without incurring any extra fees.

In addition, it also offers many other free tools that users can very easily take advantage of. First, we really enjoyed the email alert feature, which allows users to pick specific keywords and then if someone posts an ad with these keywords you will instantly be notified by email. Wow! Next, the link directory which allows members to supply a link exchange, always a nice feature, but when it’s put into a targeted directory it does wonders for your search engine ranking. Finally, the rated section allows members to post a banner within the site; users that have used your product or service can then post how effective it actually is. All these features in addition to the free classified advertising is great.

Over all we were very impressed with all the free features and the amount of traffic this site delivered to our test site. Unlike most other sites in the list, Free advertising Exchange free classified ads are 100% free across the board for all features of the site. We would highly recommend Free Advertising Exchange to anyone.

Advertise For Free – That’s Perfect For Me!

I saw a question on a forum the other day that reminded me of when I first started my home business ten years ago. A guy wanted to advertise his business offline and didn’t have much money, he was asking for suggestions.

When I started out I was seriously broke, thought I was going to lose my house. I found biz ops an area that was often called ‘the poor man’s business’ and in an act of desperation started my own home business.

I bought a couple of information products but then realised that I couldn’t afford to buy enough stamps, envelopes and photocopies to put together a big enough mailshot to earn anything. The act of buying the information products got my details on mailing lists and biz op magazines and adsheets turned up in my mail.

Being a careful Yorkshire lass I realised that cheap subscriptions to the magazines would get me free monthly ads and that the adsheets were cheap enough to place my learning ads on. I also saw lots of adverts for free ad placements so used my few stamps and envelopes for whatever freebies I could get.

The free and cheap adverts got me more sales and follow up sales than I would have ever got if I’d spent my money on mailshots. They also taught me how to advertise and it wasn’t long before others were copying my headlines.

The most important thing was that I figured out very quickly that getting my name known would increase my sales. It’s a fact that people are more likely to buy from a name that they know, and if you deal honestly your good reputation will be built up as your name gets known.

Within a few months I launched my own quirky little adsheet. As soon as the idea was finalised I sent copies off to all of the magazine editors. That got me more Free advertising in the form of excellent reviews.

I then published my own home business guide and got more wow reviews from the magazine editors and more Free advertising. The buyers advertised it for me on commission so their sales cost me nothing to promote.

Six of the editors asked me to write regular articles for them and I decided to write monthly for the best magazine with the widest circulation. Guess what? I chose to get free full page advertising instead of cash for my articles.

I wrote for that magazine for 18 months and then quit to write articles for my own magazine. Yes I published a magazine and got lots of Free advertising; all paid for by my advertisers and subscribers.

Somewhere along the way I started a leaflet design service and as at the bottom of every leaflet I was able to place ‘Designed by Patricia Jones and my telephone number’ I got more free advertising. It reached a point where a large percentage of the biz op mailshots and magazines in the UK had something with my name on.

When I think back I paid very little for my advertising for the 5 years that I had a mail order business. My creativity earned me masses of free advertising, but that wouldn’t have happened to such an extent if I hadn’t sent copies of everything new that I did for the magazine editors to review.

I’ll stress again that getting your name known is important. Even if I was advertising a website I always added my name to the advert and that created more interest. If you can write reasonably well submit articles to magazines, it really is worthwhile. If you have any ideas for new products act upon them, they might just work and they might just get you lots of free advertising.

Now I’m doing it all again on the Internet, betcha it won’t cost me much now that I’ve found article marketing!

Seriously though, everything that I did offline can be emulated in some form or another online with patience and perseverance. You can get free adverts on lots of sites on the internet, and build up your link presence. Drop into forums and join in the discussions.

You can publish your own ebooks at little or no cost. Instead of submitting articles to magazines there are article directories. Article Marketing is a great free way to boost your promotions.

I guess that instead of leaflets you could design websites, but to gain from the same power of duplication you would need to have a cracking idea that masses of people would want to promote.

For anyone who has ideas the Internet is a great place to test them out and at little or no cost, just try to make the ideas a little different to help you grab more attention. Whatever you do shout about it from the rooftops – success is standing out from the crowd!

Advertising Your Internet Home Business

Free advertising:

There are thousands of Free advertising resources available online and there are also lots of web sites that offer reciprocal linking, which basically means that you put a link to their site on your Internet home business website and they will put a link to your site on theirs.

Be wary of websites that offer to “blast your ad to millions of sites”, as this is basically spamming and a major no-no for advertising an Internet home business, especially if you are an affiliate for some company. It is a sure way to lose your position in any company and you could also lose your hard earned commissions.

Submitting articles to Article Directories is probably one of the most effective ways of getting Free advertising for your Internet home business and the benefits are long term free advertising and being recognised as an authority on the subject of your choice. It can be very time consuming submitting articles to individual sites so if you can afford it I would recommend that you purchase some article submission software which will automate a great deal of the work for you, or subscribe to a service that does it for you.

Take advantage of your email programs and set up a signature with your link to be added to all outgoing emails as another free way to advertise your Internet home business. Another great way to use signatures is through forum posting where you add your signature with your links when you set up your profile, and every time you create a post or reply to one you signature will be added to the posts. This is very effective for long term free advertising as your posts will be available for however long the forum stays online.

There are lots of free advertising websites but I have found the vast majority of them to be a waste of time and effort, and a lot of them insist that you accept emails from other members with their offers as a part of your membership. Consequently your inbox can be flooded with unwanted offers and promotions creating more unnecessary work for you having to scan through your mailbox for your personal email.

Surfing for credits is another way to get free advertising but this is also time consuming and basically hard work. I would suggest using Avant Browser for tabbed browsing if you do decide to use this method as you can have multiple windows opened tiled horizontally, simultaneously clocking up quite a lot of credits at five to ten times the speed of Internet Explorer for example.

Start Your Own Blog:

Set up a blog with links to your Internet home business … blogging has become one of the most popular forms of advertising online and there are free blog resources available that will allow you to set up your blog for free. [blogspot.com is my favourite] The trick to blogging successfully is to add some content on a daily basis to attract search spiders from Google and other search engines, and this is another good way to get listed free with search engines for your Internet home business. To really maximise your blogs potential for free advertising every time you add a post to it make sure to ping it using pingomatic.com. What this does is notify a bunch of blog listing services about your blog and they will send spiders over to your blog to index the content and link it to their networks!

Pay Per Click:

Google Adwords and Yahoo are probably two of the most effective ways of advertising your products and your Internet home business where you set your maximum budget and you only have to pay when someone clicks on your ad … hence the term Pay Per Click [PPC].

Some Internet home businesses have built their fortunes entirely with PPC but you can also lose a lot of money if your campaign and your click through rate are not effective. So again you should do some research by surfing the Internet and taking notes of campaigns that look good to you and use Overtures free keyword research tool from Yahoo to check successful keywords. Overtures will prove to be very effective and save you lots of time with this research.

Yahoo and Google operate completely differently in this area where the objective is to have your campaign displayed nearest to the number one spot as possible. Google rewards you here for how effective your campaign is worded and how relevant the keywords are, where Yahoo gives the top positions to the highest bidder.

Ezines And Newsletters:

Ezines and newsletters are another extremely cost effective and beneficial way to advertise your Internet home business and for as little as a few dollars your campaign will reach an audience of thousands. There are also countless ezines and newsletters that offer free advertising for your Internet home business

Targeted Solo Ads have been my favourite and have always been a good investment for me; usually paying dividends many times over once the email is constructed properly. Most publications ask you to format you ad with between fifty and sixty characters per line to make for an easier read on the eyes, and they all have differing lengths and amounts of words you can use so you should always check their individual rules for submitting ads before composing anything and wasting more precious time. Use bullets and numbering to highlight the benefits of your offer and I usually only use the hyperlink twice throughout the ad. Finish it off with your name and your email address or the hyperlink to your promotion.

Another effective method are classified ads that are displayed in the paid advertising sections of publications and are published repeatedly for however long you choose to pay for. The advantage to this is that readers will see your ads in consecutive issues of the ezines and newsletters and you will gain credibility with them giving you a better chance of them clicking on your links and becoming customers. Classified ads are usually about five or six line ads so you really need to devise a thought provoking campaign to grab readers’ attention and get them to click on your links for your Internet home business.

Free-Cheap Advertising Sites

Are you interested in advertising as a small business, affiliate or for personal items? Are you also looking for free and/or reasonable advertising rates? If the answer is yes, I have compiled a list of Advertising sites to help you place your ads.

New affiliates or associates have a difficult time getting started. They often pay money to learn the “Secrets” of making money on line but, frequently do not get enough support. Don’t get me wrong, there are many classy, well supported “Secrets” programs but the truth is, you don’t have to pay a dime to become an affiliate marketer. A bit of research and all the marketing strategies can be found for free. Where do we advertise? I was pointed toward using Google Adwords.

Many of you are aware of Google Adwords. It is highly recommended for advertising but can be costly and ineffective if working with a low budget. With Google, you set your monthly budget, select keywords to target and are charged on a cost per click basis. The minimum budget allowed is $30/month or $1.00 per day. For the newcomer on a small budget, you will most likely find yourself clicked out of budget early, depending on the minimum bid for each of your keywords. One of my ad campaigns was budgeted for $1.00 per day but had minimum keyword bids of $5.00 and $10.00. My keywords were inactive. I tried all variations of Google recommended keywords but could not get a minimum bid of less than $5.00. To activate my keywords for this campaign, without increasing my budget, I ran my ads for a few hours per day. One click at $5.00 I found myself done for the day. I did get one sale from Google but not enough to cover my expenses. I highly recommend reviewing and joining the Google help forum’s before getting started. Ask questions, set a budget and stick to it.

Below I am listing for you free and/or cheap advertising sites.

1) Adpost – will run your free ad for 30 days with free renewal for 90 days. After 90 days you may opt for a paid ad.

2) Adlandpro – is one of the best for free ads, and offers an affiliate program to help you promote your business. The also offer free websites.

3) Amazon – You pay nothing until you sell you item.

4) CMathers – offers 7 days of Free advertising with 4 free renewals. Better yet, 6 months for $5.00 or $12.95 for 1 year.

5) EBay – charges fees to list you item on their site. They do not allow linking to your home page or web page.

6) Ezine – offers free and paid ads reaching millions of subscribers. You will find the free ads under recommended links.

7) Google – You must set a minimum budget of $1.00/day. This is keyword based and you pay per click based on the minimum bid set for selected keywords.

8) InetGiant – offers a free service for starters. Once on your way you may want to explode your ads at minimal costs.

9) USFreeads – Offers two free ads. Affiliates, however, are required to pay $10.00 for a one year membership which allows 25 ads per month. Premium memberships are available with many more options.

10) Yahoo offers Free advertising with duration of 7 days. Just click on “Post a Free Ad”. Don’t forget to renew the ad after 7 days. You can also opt to pay for more premium services.

11) ZipZapads allows free listings with duration of 30 days. Premium packages are also available.

Please read all rules and restrictions when placing your ads.
